A native of Puerto Rico, (or Puertoriqueña), received her earliest culinary training in her mother's kitchen. She has since developed her art in classrooms and on-the-job, influenced by other great chefs. From playing with the picante flavors of Mexico and the southwest to emulating the rich palate and meticulous presentation in French cuisine, Maritza has developed a unique and diverse approach to cooking. She enjoys exploring the health benefits of utilizing fresh, high quality ingredients to make the most complex dish simply delicious. |
